Andrew ‘Andy’ Boland is currently the Instructional Technology Specialist at Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School located in Chicago, IL. His duties include facilitating the Center for Innovative Teaching, providing technology based professional development, and collaborating with students and teachers on a 21st century curriculum.
Prior to joining the staff at Mother McAuley, Andy spent four years as the Director of Bands at Nazareth Academy in La Grange Park, IL. During his tenure, he implemented a comprehensive music curriculum and his bands regularly received excellent ratings at the various contests they attended. Andy also served as a boys and girls volleyball coach for the Roadrunner Athletic Department.
Additionally, Andy worked to implement a 1:1 iPad program for the student body, and the further adoption of Google Apps for Education. During the 2014-2015 school year, Nazareth launched its 1:1 iPad program for the student body with a positive response from students and teachers alike.
In 2011, Andy graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelors of Music with an emphasis in Music Education. In 2013, Andy began his graduate studies at Concordia University - Chicago, and in 2014 he earned a Master of Arts in Educational Technology.
Andy is a Google Certified Educator.
