Austin has always attracted the bizarre and eccentric, hence the motto, “Keep Austin Weird.” People travel far and wide to get a taste of its unique restaurants and out-of-the-ordinary attractions.

It has a bridge where a colony of over a million bats sleeps, emerging en masse, just before the Austin Ghosts tour starts-we don’t think the two events are related. The amazing, bizarre murals around the city, or the pretty conventional pleasures of Lady Bird Lake, which has a hike and bike trail, some great kayak spots, and amazing views of the city
