Thinking ahead in South Africa
Andrew spent his schooldays in the Eastern Cape, South Africa, and began his career in the military - later becoming a naval officer. He is a BCom (Accounting & Information Systems) graduate of the University of Cape Town and is currently working in an admin capacity for a non-profit organisation in Cape Town. He has experience in the corporate sector as an analyst-programmer (insurance industry), and as both an auditor and distribution analyst in the oil industry.
Andrew dropped out for some years, travelled, and then lived in a coastal community far from the city life, spending much time on his surf-ski surveying the surrounding environment. He discovered plenty of challenges there, and perhaps one day he will return to tackle some - but it's going to take teamwork to do so.
Although he enjoys hiking, tennis and playing bridge, Andrew's goals include dredging a river, building a breakwater and doing considerably more sailing than his present routine allows. He has a keen interest in newspapers, though he seldom ever buys one.
