I am a passionate educator and believe that students learn by doing, not by being passive, spectators in their learning. Technology gives us the ability to connect, share and learn from each other in amazing ways. My goal is to find the best ways to integrate new and emerging technologies into existing curriculum and standards.
At Burlington Public Schools, I played a major role in designing, deploying and integrating a 1:1 iPad environment for over one thousand students, organizing the iPad deployment professional development, organizing and presenting at the Massachusetts Digital Publication Collaborative and organizing and presenting at the Burlington Public Schools district-wide professional development conference.
Beyond my professional development experience and the iPad launch at Burlington High School, I have designed and created a digital and information literacy course that focuses on Web 2.0 applications, Google Apps for Education, Information literacy, and Digital Citizenship. Outside of the classroom, I have organized three edcamps and presented at various conferences in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania. Based on his current and previous work at Edutopia, I am currently in the final phase of finishing my first book through Corwin Press on personalized learning in a 1:1 environment.
