Andrew Carlin
consumer behavior, Data analytics, and Administration in Seattle, WA
I am Andrew Carlin and if you are here I probably think I would be an asset to your team.
I'll start from the top. I was born and raised in a small town called Kingman, AZ. I grew up in a home were it was just my dad and I. Because of this I grew very close to my grandfather who lived in the same town. He was a lifelong educator and a big reason I have the career vision I have (we will get to that). I was a competitive golfer for nine years of my life, from junior golf through division I and some professional events. After that I just enjoyed life for a moment. I went back to school for my undergrad (forks up) and started working in the restaurant industry from busser to bar manager over five LONG years.
Then I decided I needed to go after my passion, sports. While my physical talents had escaped me at that point, I have always been able to rely on my acumen for numbers and business. I applied for graduate school, got and internship with FC Tucson and MLS preseason and I was off.
To this point I have very diverse experiences in sport, from game day ops, corporate partnership activation, communication through digital, print and social medias and team side experience with one of the biggest soccer clubs in North America, the Seattle Sounders. In my time with the Sounders I have had the opportunity to meet incredible people who have taught me many things. I have worked successfully in a very fast paced environment around many big personalities and earned promotions in each season.
While my current role with the Sounders is fun and certainly keeps me on my toes, I am looking to better utilize my skill set and passion in data analytics, consumer behavior, administration and marketing. My career vision is to increase the positive impact of sports on the communities they exist in. I want to use the tools I have developed to achieve this through either corporate partnership activation or business intelligence. Healthy organizations have the most opportunity to better their communities and both corporate partnership and business intelligence are vital to the success of sports organizations.
Thanks for looking into me and ask me about the market research I have done for major professional sports teams, it is interesting and I'd love to show you some of it.
