I'm Andrew Hewitt, Founder and Creative Director of Little Rebel, where I work across photography, film and design for businesses, organisations and individuals.

Before launching Little Rebel, I spent much of my career in research and higher education, including 13 years developing and inventing new textile products and processes for industrial clients. Working for a university spin-out company also meant wearing rather more hats than the job title suggested: alongside the research, I designed websites, branding, marketing materials, trade-show stands, presentations and pretty much anything else we needed. Along the way I completed a PhD in Textiles at the University of Leeds, before later moving into academia at the University of Huddersfield, where my lecturing included Fashion Marketing alongside my wider work in textiles and research. Looking back, the route from textile researcher to the creative industries perhaps isn't quite as unlikely as it first appears.

Away from Little Rebel, theatre takes up a fairly substantial chunk of my life. I'm a Trustee and Director of Upstagers, an amateur theatre charity in Ilkley, where I've been involved for many years as a director, designer, photographer and general maker-of-things. I'm also a seven-time award-winning pantomime director, with those directing awards shared with my brilliant co-directors over the years.

Photography has been a passion for as long as I can remember, and I'm rarely far from a camera. Other longstanding interests include wildlife, birding, Star Wars and the occasional spot of unapologetic geekery.

I'm also usually accompanied by Rebel, my overwhelmingly bouncy Italian Greyhound and (very) enthusiastic partner-in-crime.
