Andrew Liu

Pasadena, CA

I've been inventing since I was a kid. One of my first inventions was a hybrid between my cousin's Trans-Am and my uncle's passenger van at age 8 (1985). You can imagine how I felt when I saw the Pontiac Trans Sport driving down the street in 1990...d'oh!..actually my mom will tell you I cried like a girl.

My first business was Andy and Wilson's Car Wash at age 10. Since then, I've created a few companies including a real estate company, SecondConnection (an online dating site), and my most recent venture CarHound; an internet marketplace that helps consumers find the best deals on new cars.

Along the way, I was a civil engineer to pay the bills and worked on projects such as BART to San Jose, California High Speed Train, and Alaska Way Viaduct. I guess you can say I like transportation and automotive.
