Andrew James Lodge, MD, earned High Distinction in biological chemistry at the University of Virginia and pursued medicine at Duke University, focusing on congenital heart surgery.

After completing a cardiothoracic residency and a fellowship at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, he joined Duke University Medical Center, specializing in congenital heart disease, transplantation, and ventricular assist devices.

Dr. Lodge has held leadership roles in surgical education and quality improvement, receiving the Duke University Presidential Award in 2018. He also leads missions providing heart surgeries for children in underserved countries and now focuses on heart and lung transplantation.
