Snowboarding has been Andrew’s passion since he first took to the slopes on a family vacation to Quebec. Growing up in Yellowknife made it challenging to fuel this passion given that there are no ski resorts in the NWT. He built drop in ramps, set up fridges, rode behind snowmobiles and even took snow from the skating rink so that he could snowboard. At the age of 16 Andrew starting riding with RidersOnBoard - a club based out of Calgary. After a year and a half with Riders he moved to Whistler - the mecca of Canadian snowboarding - and joined the Whistler Valley Snowboard Club which he continues to ride with today.
With a lot of determination and outstanding support from the northern community Andrew has now emerged onto the national freestyle snowboard scene as a formidable competitor. His future goals include standing on the podium at World Cups, the X Games and the Olympics.
