A graduate of Cambridge University with a degree in Economics and Land Economy, Andrew has been a Chartered Surveyor for over 35 years holding senior positions with ICFC Developments (now 3i) and Richard Ellis (now CBRE) before beginning a career in property investment and development in 1982. For over 30 years he has concentrated on identification, financing, acquisition, construction, letting and sale of industrial, office, retail and residential projects with a combined value well in excess of £1bn. His emphasis has always been on adding value to assets through positive management and through the planning process. Andrew is Chairman of Marlborough Developments, a property development and investment group and Chairman of project managers Quercus Risk Management Ltd. Andrew is a principal in Accrue Student Housing Limited – a fund formed in 2010 to invest in the growing student accommodation sector. He is also currently a shareholder/director in energy from waste and strategic land companies and is Chairman and a Trustee of the Eastern Region of not for profit organisation SportsAid - a national charity helping talented young athletes. Andrew served as a non executive local Chairman of Clydesdale Bank from November 2005 until stepping down in November 2008 and was the inaugural Chairman of the Property Advisory Committee to Hotbed Limited which provides access to syndicated investment in private equity and commercial property opportunities for high net worth individual investors. Andrew is a member of the Oxford & Cambridge Club (previous Chairman of House Committee and member Management Committee), MCC, Turf Club, Cambridge University Land Society, St Moritz Tobogganing Club (Life Member), The Lords Taverners, Stoics Cricket Club (Life Vice President), and Northampton Rugby Football Club. Andrew’s particular interests are his family, rugby, cricket, the Cresta Run, modern history and politics, and fine food and wine. He is married with a teenage daughter and lives on a farm in Northamptonshire.
