Andrew Shimomura

I'm a freelance UX / Interaction Designer currently conducting User Research as a contractor at Google. I've worked with clients including Intel, VMware, Cisco, Columbia Sportswear, and Genentech. I've consulted on projects for the NYC Bar Association and NW Natural Gas.

Previously, I was the Lead Researcher at Facilitas, a consumer finance startup in NYC. We built tools that made it easier for you to compare and switch checking accounts. Here I got my first experience in product development learned a ton about the online personal finance world.

Before that, I assisted in the editorial departments of two architecture magazines, Metropolis and Volume, after earning my BA in Philosophy from Columbia.

I'm also an illustrator of sorts. The background of this page is a team I worked with on a mobile app.
