Viv Andrews
Chorlton cum Hardy, Manchester
Originally trained in drama, media and cultural studies, my career has taken me via television, e-commerce and web project management to the world of research, user experience (UX) and usability, both in and out of the digital sphere.
I am fascinated by what makes people and organisations tick. That's why I like to conduct research to understand how organisations and structures can be made to work better for the people they serve. I have a very curious nature and I like to make sense of the world, and to help make the world make sense.
I left a position as head of strategy at a digital agency in 2012 and have since been freelancing as a usability consultant.
I pursue a variety of other interest. I am a professional independent family, wedding and funeral celebrant, conducting unique wedding, civil partnership and naming ceremonies tailored to those who want something outside of a religious or standard civil ceremony. Find out more about Heartfelt Ceremonies.
I am also available as a stage manager for events, having worked for Stumblefunk at Beatherder festival (2011/2012/2013) and the Black Howl stage at Galtres festival (2013/2014).
A more recent string to my bow is the role of compere. I compered the Moonrise Collective's evening in support of 16 days of activism in September 2014 and Ladyfest Manchester in March 15.
