Andrew Thompson

I was born in Atlanta, Georgia on a hot June day in the year 1992. I was coincidently not named after the upcoming very powerful hurricane Andrew, but my parents would soon realize I would be trouble enough to handle. I was a big deal since the day I was born. Literally, I was the second largest baby in the nursery the day I was born. Since that day my personality and love for life grew. As a child anything dealing with sports or outdoors, I was there. I played baseball and soccer ever since I was 3 and continued through my high school years. Also my love for the outdoors continued to this present day. Starting with exploring my back yard for insects and got on hikes with my grandfather to spending a week on a river in Idaho this past summer, my life has been centered around the wilderness. Family has also been a major part of my life. I come from a family that is part Southern Georgia and part Puerto Rican, so I am ethnically balanced. I love spending one break in the mountains of North Georgia with my father’s side and a few months later going and spending a week on the island of Puerto Rico visiting my mother’s side. Today I enjoy hanging out with my close friends, working as a swim coach for a neighborhood team, playing with my two dogs, and recently spending time in a ceramics room working on pottery pieces. My life has been nothing to complain about thus far!
