In 2011, WOLO-TV launched a morning newscast. The budget for the show was small, and as the anchor, I didn't think we could compete with the larger stations in least not on their terms. So I launched a series of unique features to give the station a niche based on 80's TV shows:

(Laverne & Shirley, Love Boat, Green Acres, The Jeffersons) We were nominated for an Emmy Award.

Outraged that Columbia, SC doesn't have a Christmas parade, we also created a parody of a parade.

On the investigative side, I created, reported, wrote, and produced the series Hidden Columbia, exploring unknown history and oddities in the city. While researching a story on the defunct state mental hospital, I discovered my great-grandmother, who had disappeared from family history. Link here. (or see full "Hidden Columbia" facebook page)

I would love to join a team working on projects for which such creativity, research, and fun are paramount.
