I'm a graduate researcher at BU School of Medicine. I study the genetics of neurodegenerative diseases, in particular, Parkinson's and Huntington's disease.

Our lab is attempting to understand the molecular mechanisms that may be involved in disease pathology and progression by using next-generation sequencing to characterize gene expression patterns of diseased and non-diseased human brain.

There is huge clinical potential for transcriptional profiling, from disease classification to determining the efficacy of treatments. The hard part ... finding relevant, druggable genes and bridging the gap between basic research to patient care.
