Based in Harpersville, Alabama, steel executive Andy Schroeder owns and runs South Central Steel, Inc., or SCS. Leading up to his work with SCS, he studied engineering at Virginia Tech and ultimately graduated from Auburn University with a bachelor of science in finance. Andy Schroeder took a position with a subsidiary of BE&K Engineering after completing his degree.

He later became a manager with Capstone Development, where he handled the full life cycle of the development process, from contract review and planning to construction and close. He next served as a development and construction manager with Direct Development, where time he supervised projects and worked with vendors and financing sources for positive funding outcomes with an eye on future operations.

In 2010, Andy Schroeder joined SCS as vice president. He now owns the company and leads as its president. The company offers clients a wide range of services and solutions in the area of fabricated structural steel. Offerings include stairs and handrails, bolts and plate cutting services, and miscellaneous steel fabrication. The company has worked with retail-, residential-, and office-based clients to deliver quality materials and consistent workmanship since 1990.
