"Work hard in silence, let success be your noise" - Ritu Ghatourey
My name is Angel Z. Jones, but you can call me Z. I am a proud native of Brooklyn, New York and woman old Jamaican descent. Growing up I was surrounded by an extensive amount of intellectuals and creatives from all walks of life. As well as had the opportunity to devlop within my own intelligencia and creative expression, continuously evolving in each category. And now I have taken my passion for scholarship and artistic expression to new heights with my undergraduate studies. Currently, I am a junior at Howard University working on my BFA in Theatre Arts: Acting.
As a young queer woman of color in America, I take my education just as serious as my actvism within my community. Through programs like Girls for Gender Equity's mentorship and youth community organizing internship ( Sister's In Strength) I have found my voice within advocacy and social justice. As well as had to the chance to make a change in my brooklyn community and nationally.
I have organized and spoken at events across the country, on-campus, and in New York City.
