About my path: I meander with purpose. (For that, I have my philosophy degree to thank.)

After spending a happy and fruitful decade in Dallas building my marketing career, I grew frustrated with the corporate ladder and hierarchical title game. Plus, I didn't feel like I was doing enough to really help people. (Companies, yes. Individuals? Not so much.)

I also noticed, both in a traditional brick-and-mortar retail corporate HQ environment, as well as a plucky tech startup setting, that a lot of my friends and colleagues didn't fully grasp and weren't maximizing their employee perks, like retirement accounts or stock options.

So, after some heartfelt encouragement from my father, a PhD in Business, lifelong entrepreneur and CFP®, I decided to pivot into the world of finance. Having lived through the first dot-com bubble burst, housing implosion, and 2008 crisis, I've seen firsthand how the absence of sound financial habits or a solid plan can lead people and families to ruin. And it doesn't have to be that way.

Besides: wouldn't it be nice if more ethical, empathic, and fantastically diverse people were in the financial industry?
