Angela Douglas is native and resident of Chester SC. She serves as the Principal Strategist for Douglas Strategy Group LLC and a business and tax consultant for Ambassador's Business & Tax Services, Inc. She assists local governments, political candidates, small businesses with operational management, strategic planning, and leadership development. Her goals are to inspire and assist in creating optimal growth and success.

Angela is a Councilwoman for the City of Chester SC. Her focus is empowerment and development. She brings her experience and expertise to assist in economic development and citizen engagement to improve the City's quality of place.

Angela is a former university Lecturer of political science and public administration as well as the Program Coordinator for the Master of Public Administration program. She taught undergraduate and graduate courses in assorted topics on American government and politics. She was instrumental in the founding of the Campaigns Minor (first of its kind in the UNC system), redeveloping the Public Administration minor, and the increased efficiency and success of the MPA program.

Prior to joining UNCW, Angela worked as the Program Coordinator of Health Professions Data for the SC Office of Research and Statistics and as a Labor Market Analyst for the SC Employment Security Commission.

She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and History from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, a Master of Public Administration degree in Transportation Systems Analysis and Public Management from Georgia State University, and is currently completing her Ph.D. in Political Science at the University of South Carolina. Angela is a QuickBooks Online Certified ProAdvisor and has a record of completion for the IRS AFSP.

Angela stays involved in her community. She has been appointed to numerous boards and commissions related to community development, public housing, healthy living, and more. Angela is a certified public housing commissioner and served on the board of the Chester Housing Authority for 10 years. In 2008, she co-founded a nonprofit, The Rosa M. Douglas Scholarship Foundation, which focuses on increasing awareness and capacity for women’s health along the I-77 corridor between Charlotte NC and Columbia SC. She has also worked and volunteered on several political campaigns and is extensively involved in SC Democratic politics.
