Hi! My name is Angelina I am 20 years old and live in Richmond Hill. I am currently in my third year of university at the University of Guelph studying biological sciences. Before university, I attended and graduated from King City Secondary School. I love to play sports including figure skating and soccer. My favourite hobby is figure skating, I used to skate competitively before going into university. Another favourite hobby of mine is playing soccer recreationally. I really enjoy playing on a soccer team, improving my communication and collaboration skills every time.

The field of science that interests me the most is conversation biology. Conservation biologists focus on restoring and protecting our planet's biodiversity and nature that are at risk of extinction. I am very interested in this field of science because I have a great passion to care for and protect the natural world that we live in. As well, I love learning new things about different ecosystem environments and the wildlife that live in these ecosystems. With conservation biology, you need to act fast to situations that are vital to get done quickly to protect the wildlife and natural environments at risk. If these situations are not done in time or result in failure, very unfortunate events may occur, such as the extinction of the species located in the environment at risk. As well, I am interested in learning what threats there are to the health and safety of wildlife and nature. Examples include climate change and deforestation. Someone in the science world who has inspired me to go into the field of science specifically in the biological sciences was my grade 11 and 12 biology teacher. His classes were very engaging and made me very interested in doing my university degree in biology. His classes also opened my eyes to a variety of different biological concepts in the world of science.

My plan for my future is to continue to further my education and study for a master's in environmental sciences. From this master's I will be able to learn more possible ways to protect our environment, essential regulations, and have a better understanding of our natural world. Based on this possible route of education my current career goal would be to work as an environmental scientist in the public or private sector. A fact about me that many people don’t know is that my family and I go on vacation to a different country once a year, except for this year due to the pandemic.
