Muhammad-Ali A'râbi

Student and Researcher in Freiburg, Germany

I am a MSc Student and Researcher at Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg (studying Informatik and working in Programming Languages Lab), currently living in Geneva, Switzerland. Having a BSc degree in Pure Mathematics, I like researching in interdisciplinary fields.

I also have passion and experience in Software Development, e.g. in Java, Python, Scala, C++, etc. Researched in Big Data and Distributed Computation, and worked in Web Application Development / Deployment. Have experience with Django, Servlet, PHP, JS, and Frontend Development, and also with both traditional SSH-and-Deploy methods and using more sophisticated ways like using Docker and cloud services like AWS. Experienced in working with both SVN and Git, I cannot imagine a project developing without CI, worked with GitLab-CI, Jenkins, Travis-CI, and also more basic testing tools.

Started programming with C from the age of 13, I then developed interests in Video Games Development, developing a few award-winning games with Irrlicht Engine (C++), Unity3D, SAGE, GameMake (Studio), and CryENGINE.

Started Web Application Development after I feeled the need for a scoring management tool, for a competition I co-designed, learned PHP and developed such a tool with it, then integrated with an Android App, used in more than a dozen national events. I also developed other PHP-based Web Apps, such as a Gamified Learning Portal, a Stock Exchange Simulator, and a Stats Analyzer.
