Angelle E. Richardson, Ph.D., LPC, is a Family Therapist, Professor and Speaker. She is the Founder of Extended Hearts Family Therapy, and is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Community and Trauma Counseling Program at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Richardson holds a Doctoral degree in Couple and Family Therapy, a Master's degree in Counseling, and a Bachelors degree in Professional Writing/Journalism. She is a licensed professional counselor.
Dr. Richardson provides therapy to individuals and families, and specializes in trauma, adoption, foster care, and grief. She also provides workshops to community agencies, churches and schools on various mental health topics that impact both children and adults.
Dr. Richardson has been part of a team that provided trauma training in Haiti. She has also appeared on the TODAY Show.
She has presented at the Association for Death Education and Counseling (ADEC) Conference, the American Family Therapy Academy (AFTA) Conference, the National Alliance for Grieving Children Symposium (NAGC), and the NJ American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) Conference. Her research on female adoptees’ post-relationship experiences with both biological and adoptive mothers was published in the Journal of Marital and Family Therapy.
Dr. Richardson has been certified in the Beck Model of Cognitive Therapy and is trained in Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
Dr. Richardson enjoys helping individuals and families find a way to improve their communication and rebuild their connections.
