Angel McCoy is the founder of the McCoy Environmental Group, Inc. where she provides environmental compliance services. She is passionate about inspiring the next generation of environmental science professionals and often conducts weather talks and demonstrations at schools throughout the Washington, DC metro area.
Prior to launching her firm, McCoy was a Meteorologist at the Department of the Interior's Bureau of Ocean Energy Management Office of Renewable Energy Programs where she implemented the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and ensured environmental compliance specifically with respect to Air Quality in Offshore Renewable Energy. She was also a Meteorologist for the National Weather Service's Climate Prediction Center on the Famine Early Warning System Network (FEWS Net) Project funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development. She provided weather and climate monitoring and analysis for the purposes of food security and famine early warning for developing countries in Central America, the Caribbean, Sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia.
In her spare time, McCoy is the Director of the District of Columbia and Virginia Exquisite Pageants. She enjoys time with family and traveling; and has visited 30 countries and doesn't plan to slow down anytime soon!
