I am currently a Junior at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, studying Hospitaltiy & Tourism Management. I am both passionate and excited about this field, and looking forward to a career in either casinos, hotels or food and beverage.
My passion has always been people! I live to make people laugh and love meeting new people. I find myself meeting at least one new person everyday. I also enjoy helping others. In high school, I went on three different service trips with my community group, the South Boston Youth Ambassadors. The first two trips were to Mississippi and New Orleans, where we helped work on people's homes who were devastated by hurricane Katrina. The last trip was to Tuscaloosa, Alabama where we helped fix an elderly man's house that was nearly destroyed by a tornado in 2011. Seeing how devastated the people I encountered on these trips were inspired me to be a better person. I will never forget the people I met on these trips, nor the gratitude they expressed for our help.
I have always been an entertainer and I think this plays a role in my passion for people. At age 2, I began singing. And I mean. Non. Stop. I have been singing my whole life and this definitely has been beneficial to my public speaking skills. As an entertainer/performer, I have no problem getting up in front of large groups of people. As someone who enjoys making others laugh, I am not afraid to make mistakes or make myself look like an idiot.
My future plans are to work on a cruise ship, preferably for Norwegian Cruise Line. I hope that through traveling internationally I can expand my network to an even greater length and meet people from all over the world.
