Angus Dale-Jones is a Chartered Accountant and former financial services regulator.

He worked with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission for 17 years, ultimately as Regional Commissioner of the Western Australian office. In 2008 Angus was appointed by the New Zealand Securities Commission (predecessor to the Financial Markets Authority) as director responsible for the implementation of the Financial Advisers Act. He led the adviser regulation team until the new legislation was implemented in 2011.

He established Knax Consulting in 2011, initially working on regulatory and compliance strategy before specialising in corporate conduct strategy. He has also worked part-time for global investment specialists, New Zealand Assets Management, where he led the project to transition their business to the Financial Markets Conduct Act regime.

From 2012 to June 2016, Angus was an independent board member of the Professional Advisers Association, having chaired an interim joint board in 2011 to amalgamate the PAA and the former NZ Mortgage Brokers Association. In 2015/16 he helped bring together the PAA and the Institute of Financial Advisers in anticipation of the establishment of a united professional association. As the PAA's regulatory affairs spokesperson, he had extensive involvement in the review of the Financial Advisers Act and in changes to the Code of Professional Conduct for Authorised Financial Advisers.

Angus is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and holds a Masters degree in Business and Technology from the University of New South Wales.
