Brooklyn, New York.
Bienvenue to my page on the internet. A published writer, I am also an HIM Coordinator in the Medical Record Department @ VCNY, a Refuge for people in the last stage of AIDS.
*The past seven years I had volunteered for Dwa Fanm (Women’s Rights), a non-profit organization committed to empowering all women and girls to define and control their own lives through service, education, advocacy and grassroots programs. Dwa Fanm works to end discrimination, violence and other forms of injustice in the United States and in Haiti. I provided use of my home as a shelter for women and children fleeing domestic abuse, and one-on-one culturally competent counseling for women facing the crisis of transitioning out of abusive relationships. Furthermore, I translated educational brochures and other documents from French or Creole to English, advised on format for radio programming and contributed to the development of strategy for outreach in the Haitian community.
AND, I am a volunteer Librarian and a Cuddler @ the New York Methodist Hospital. Nothing compare to the feeling of peace one experiences when cuddling and soothing a contented and sleeping infant; Heavens came down, literally.
Author of "Broken but not shattered", a cathartic memoir painting the vivid portrait of an abusive husband and father. Broken is emotional and heart gripping, with a frank look into Haiti's culture. In 2005, overwhelmed by dark memories and wanting catharsis, Anick lets everything out: The mental, emotional and physical abuse that had reigned in her marriage, hoping to be the voice of women in abusive situations, the ones who kept silent and still smiled to the world. She hopes that her story gives them the strength to GET OUT and seek help. Through INFINITY PUBLISHING, she also published "Stronger". a follow-up of "Broken", "Mr. Suburban, the predator next door", dealing with the sexual exploitation of children, and "Leading ladies", her first 2in1 erotica teaser. (explicit!!!)
-Rejection, thought very painful, should not hold back anyone from their goal of being a published writer.
