Baton Rouge, La.
My name is Alyssa Burkett and I am a sophomore at Louisiana State University. I am often described as a friendly, outgoing, passionate person with strong leadership skills.
I orginally started college at Southeastern Lousiana University in Fall 2012. I was a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority, press club, PRSSA, campus activities board, and NSLS. Despite being actively envolved on campus, I just knew that that Southeasten wasn't the place for me, so I made the decision to transfer this past Fall. I am proud to now call myself an LSU tiger. I am majoring in mass communications with a concentration in public relations and a minor in business administartion. I want to pursue a career in public relation upon graduation in spring 2016.
I have thouroughly enjoyed college life at LSU so far. LSU football games, the beautiful campus, and academic opportunities are the reason I chose LSU. Some interesting facts about me are that I love to dance, I love to travel and my favorite place is Disney.
I have been dancing since I was three years old. At the age of 9, I began competeing in regional and national dance competitions, where I obtained many overall awards and titles. I have always had a desire to travel, however I have not really had an opportunity to do so. I am hoping that after college I will have the opportunity to explore the world.
In the upcoming years I hope to intern with Coca-Cola next summer. After I finish my undergraduated degree, I would love to spend the next year living in New York City working for Tory Burch. I admire Tory Burch's work ethic and I would love to gain experience in the pr department. After that, I hope to return to my home at LSU to work towards a Master's in business administration.
