Anita Newby is a phenomenal Christian woman with superb gifts and talents. She exudes passion for life in marketplace and ministry as an accomplished singer, actress, author, worship leader, vocal instructor, public speaker, pastor, organizational leader, and corporate trainer. A native Detroiter who currently resides in the Blue Water area, Anita flows with an undeniable prophetic anointing and is dedicated to advancing the kingdom of God through multiple spheres of influence.
Pastor Newby is a psalmist, praise & worship leader, and teacher. As a worship arts pastor, she trains singers and musicians, writes and directs original plays, and choreographs dances. In the area of administration, she coordinates conferences and special events, manages staff and volunteers, develops strategic plans, and cultivates leaders. As a minister of the gospel, she teaches the Word of God with clarity and boldness and challenges people to walk in their God-given purpose.
Her love for the performing arts is astounding and she has been well received by an assembling of multiple audiences. She is a sought after vocalist and performer. Her vocal, in addition to songwriting abilities have been displayed on numerous recordings. She has performed in several stage plays with some of her most memorable roles being Mrs. Potts in Beauty and the Beast, Ronette in Little Shop of Horrors, Belinda Blair in Noises Off, Marcy Park in The 25 Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, the iconic Billie Holiday in Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill, and most recently, Deloris Van Cartier in Sister Act The Musical.
She is a credit union executive specializing in coaching and training. She has attained a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from Wayne State University majoring in vocal performance and is a graduate of AMTC – a professional training institute for the performing arts.
