Anita D Russell is an independent consultant and network marketer who is passionate about contributing to the growth and development of people. As a social entrepreneur, she travels for adventure, to learn and discover, and to make an impact in three core areas: building community, making contribution and inspiring change.
Anita was born, raised and educated in Pittsburgh PA. Her eclectic career spans multiple disciplines, including pharmaceutical R&D, learning and development, computer arts and elearning design, youth and community leadership, and ministry.
She is a former research scientist, who practiced first in academia, then moved on to drug discovery in the pharmaceutical industry at a biopharma company in New Jersey. After leaving the lab, Anita took on the role of program manager for the company’s R&D Center for Science Education, which included an Annual Scientific Symposium. She also led the company’s African American Affinity Group evolving it into the African American Employee Resource Group in support of corporate diversity and inclusion.
Now working independently, Anita is the owner of The Place to SOAR and SOAR Travel Ministry. She consults as an instructional designer and a web designer, which includes small businesses and nonprofit organizations. She is also a John Maxwell Team life coach and a writer. Her first publication, Motherhood Dreams and Success: You can Have It All, is an anthology full of inspiration and wisdom from a very diverse group of women from around the world. She is currently working on a second book, a spiritual memoir, to be released in 2017.
In 2014, Anita began producing and hosting The Place to SOAR, a local talk show featuring guests who live their lives on purpose and willingly share their experiences and lessons learned for the benefit of others. The show is broadcast through a partnership with Princeton Community TV. The show airs on PrincetonTV.org Tuesdays at 10 AM and Sundays at 6:30 PM Eastern.
