I have recently decided to leave the world of research and consulting to search my inner-self for a means to make a living. The internet is fabulous for that kind of search. I found bags - all kinds of bags with tutorials. Making them is actually fun and engaging. So #entrepreneurship here I come.

Today, July 12, 2016, I set a one year goal to pursue the business of bag making. I hope to have a registered business selling locally and internationally "Sister Sauti" hand made one of a kind' designs.

I have already started the learning process. To shorten the learning curve, I decided to find a bag and try to make it without tutorial, pattern, anything but what I learned in my searches on the internet.

After an entire day of measuring and remeasuring cutting and re-cutting and sewing and pulling out and re-sewing, I know I have the basic concepts riveted in my head. Now for design and technique development.

The journey begins in entrepreneurship and the management of a successful home-based business.

I should have done this a long time ago. I was advised by a wise man that I should pursue sewing, something I had dabbled in as a teenager. I ignored the advice. I lived in Ethiopia and noticed that persons who could do things with their hands began earning the minute the landed. It was also clear the earning through intellectual pursuits were less feasible without some form of fluency in the language.

One love.
