Web and Accessibility Specialist in Berkeley, California
I work on operations, customer support/training, documentation, and development for Open Berkeley, a turnkey web platform solution for UC Berkeley campus websites. Open Berkeley allows campus employees to easily build sophisticated websites, and provides critical solutions to ongoing Security, Accessibility, and Maintenance issues.
I also coordinate Web Accessibility efforts at UC Berkeley, in order to uphold the University of California's commitment to making electronic technologies fully accessible on all campuses.
Outside of my job at UC Berkeley, I sit on the Board of Directors, and previously served as Blog Director, for The Bay Bridged, a San Francisco-based nonprofit project.
The other stuff:
I grew up in Sebastopol, CA; my coming-of-age years revolved around volleyball, Gravenstein apples and a high school located next to a dairy farm.
Thus far, my adult life has been a love letter to the University of California. I spent 4 years in the majestic redwood forest of UC Santa Cruz, and I have worked at UC Berkeley since then.
After spending 7 lovely years in San Francisco, my husband and I (along with our cat) relocated across the Bay to Berkeley in 2015. In 2017, our son was born.
I enjoy music, singing, comedy podcasts, running, playing DDR, riding my bike, cooking, and eating.
