Web and Accessibility Specialist in Berkeley, California
I coordinate Web Accessibility efforts at UC Berkeley, in order to uphold the University of California's commitment to making electronic technologies fully accessible on all campuses.
I also provide operations and development support for Open Berkeley, a turnkey web platform solution for UC Berkeley campus websites. Open Berkeley allows campus employees to easily build sophisticated websites, and provides critical solutions to ongoing Security, Accessibility, and Maintenance issues.
Outside of my job at UC Berkeley, I work as Blog Director and sit on the Board of Directors for The Bay Bridged, a San Francisco-based nonprofit project, which is recognized nationwide as the leading source for San Francisco Bay Area independent music through an award-winning music blog and podcast series, as well as a series of acclaimed music festival events.
The other stuff:
I grew up in Sebastopol, CA; my coming-of-age years revolved around volleyball, Gravenstein apples and a high school located next to a dairy farm.
Thus far, my adult life has been a love letter to the University of California. I spent 4 awesome years in the majestic redwood forest of UC Santa Cruz, and I have worked at UC Berkeley since then.
After spending 7 lovely years in San Francisco, my husband and I (along with our cat) recently relocated across the Bay to Berkeley. We can usually be found running, riding bikes, digging through produce bins at Berkeley Bowl, and playing DDR in our living room.
In general, I enjoy music, comedy podcasts, running, riding my bike, cooking, and eating.
