Anna Kavehmehr is a freelance illustrator based in Toronto, Canada. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in graphic design. Telling stories through creating images has been her lifelong passion, which has led her to specialize in book illustration. She has illustrated George Orwell’s 1984, Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, The Lepidoctor by Mick Jackson, and other projects in hand. She has also written several critiques on book illustrations in magazines.
Anna strongly believes illustration to be a powerful medium in conveying thoughts, messages and ideas. Her work is not confined to storytelling and as her works show, she has many independent works both in traditional and digital format.
Anna’s venture in the art world is not limited to illustration; she has great interest in photography and design. Her entery in the recent Worldwide Photowalk Competition was chosen as one of the best photos in Toronto. In the popular Disney’s 2012 "Mickey Mouse through the Years" Competition, she recieved a prize among hundreds of competitors for her depiction of Mickey Mouse.
