Annabel Slaight

Annabel Slaight, now retired, was co-founder and President of OWL Magazines, Books and Television which have reached and influenced more than 16 million Canadian families since 1976. She is the Chair of the Shaw Rocket Fund that invests $17 million/year in children's television production. At home on Lake Simcoe, she is a champion of the protection of Lake Simcoe for the future. Her initial activity on the Lake was co-founding the "Ladies of the Lake", a high energy group of over 100 women committed to helping people help their Lake and watershed. She is vice chair of the Alliance for a Better Georgina, a member of the Lake Simcoe Coordinating Committee, and Chair of the Ontario Water Centre committee to make Lake Simcoe an integrated hub for learning, research and innovation.
