Academic Technology Coach in San Antonio, Texas
I am an Academic Technology Coach in the fourth largest school district in Texas, Northside ISD. I started my career as a middle school teacher. My passion for education and technology provided opportunities for me to excel in technology integration. After receiving my Master's degree in Education with an Instructional Technology focus, I transitioned into an instructional technology coaching role at the high school and middle school level. I have spent twelve years coaching educators in technology integration. Throughout my coaching career, I have developed a strong model for:
1-Producing effective, high quality technology professional development,
2- Implementing EdTech coaching strategies, and
3- Supporting teacher (T-TESS) growth with a technology focus.
Recently, I completed my doctoral coursework in Educational Leadership with a speciality in Educational Technology. My experience supporting educators in effective technology education led to my research proposal on developing a model for effective, scaffolded technology professional development. The Structured Technology Learning Plan (STLP) is a model that implements specific elements of the TPACK model and Technology Learning Cycle (TLC) that districts and EdTech Coaches can use to build unique technology professional development opportunities that support effective technology integration.
