As creator of The Thinking Imperative my focus is engaging people’s minds and spirit in ethical decision-making, and building a culture of thought leadership for facilitating successful small and large-scale change initiatives.
I started my career in banking and then moved into human resource and management functions in the Department of National Defence and Canadian Coast Guard. I have been a health educator in Nova Scotia and worked in ministry and central agency human resources and executive development for the Province of British Columbia. My experience has spanned facilitating leadership continuity for a large health authority to facilitating innovative thinking for a large transmission company. My most challenging roles were participating in a CIDA/IPAC project in South East Asia and as a training advisor with U.S. AID, the Ministry of Justice and the Association of Ukrainian Banks in Kiev.
I am privileged to have been the Director of Leadership Programs at Royal Roads University, Associate Faculty for the MA in Leadership (Health) and the Centre for Applied Leadership and Management and a member of the Royal Roads University Review Ethics Board. I am currently a member of the NeuroLeadership Institute and on the Board of the Kidney Foundation of Canada BC Branch.
