Anne-Marie Kenney currently serves as the Chief Student Affairs Office and Dean of Student Affairs at Newbury College in Brookline, MA. She joined the staff at Newbury in August of 2013 to provide leadership for the division of student affairs which includes-residence life and community standards, international student services, student involvement and leadership development, first year experience and orientation programs, counseling and health education. In that time she has helped reengage campus life with the creation of leadership development, orientation and first year experience programming. She has taken the lead on campus wide efforts on retention,education and programming around sexual assault prevention, academic advising and support services, students of concern,and support for first generation college students. She has presented on persistence and resiliency in the student affairs profession, women and mentorship and supporting staff supervision. Anne-Marie has also been a long standing member of NODA- serving as the Association's Executive Secretary/Treasurer, a three year term as board member and as both annual and regional conference host.
In addition to her work with NODA Anne-Marie serves NASPA nationally as a member of the AVP Steering Committee and regionally as the MA-NASPA liaison for Senior Student Affairs professionals. She has also served as a national conference presenter and a mentor in the Region I New Professionals Mentor Institute.
Anne-Marie is a doctoral candidate in higher education leadership at Nova Southeastern University. She received her M.Ed in Administration of Higher Education from Suffolk University after earning her B.A. in History and Politics from Assumption College.
A tried and true New England sports fan, Anne-Marie can often be found at Gillette or Fenway and is even known to see her favorite teams on the road. Ask her about her recent trips to Dallas and Buffalo and her Superbowl adventures in Indianapolis and Phoenix!
