Anne Sommerfield is an award winning freelance Director, Producer and Writer with a passion for wildlife filmmaking, factual programming and powerful documentaries.

Her forthcoming series 'Great Barrier Reef with David Attenborough' premiers 9pm BBC1, 30th Dec 2015. (Ep2 6th Jan, Ep3 12th Jan) and was a collaboration with Atlantic Productions and the BBC.

Her last series "Animals in Love" (Feb 2015) drew an audience of over 5 million for BBC1 and was the 18th highest rating factual programme on the channel this year.

Anne began her TV career by writing and producing eleven episodes of the EMMY nominated ‘Meerkat Manor’ (BBC & Animal Planet). The series, which has aired in over 160 countries has claimed numerous awards, including “Best Popular Broadcast Programme” at the WILDSCREEN festival.

In 2009 Anne's first efforts in directing were rewarded with a nomination at the prestigious Jackson Hole Film Festival under “Best People and Wildlife” for her quirky and hugely emotive Rhino conservation film "There's a Rhino in my House". In the same year, Broadcast Magazine listed her among their “Hotshot Directors” .
