Annette Ramos

As a bilingual educator, Annette Ramos has devoted her career to ensuring equitable educational and artistic opportunities for all learners from around the world. It is her mission to utilize her leadership skills to advocate for greater opportunities for Latino students and artists. For three decades, Annette has carried out these interests through her work with community arts organizations dedicated to issues of education, youth empowerment programs and duel-language performing arts.Ms. Ramos is a well-versed and committed arts leader who has worn many hats throughout her career, receiving numerous awards for her work with children from the RCSD, W&B’s & the City of Buffalo. She also was named the Latinas Unidas Leadership Awardee for 2014 and received the 2014 Hispanicize Positive Impact Award, a National recognition of Latinos doing remarkable deeds. Annette is engaged with many community organizations dedicated to uniting Latino/a Artists moving forward the vision of a Rochester Latino Arts & Cultural Center. In addition, Annette has worked in theater as an actress, playwright, director and producer. She also lectures on early childhood education and is a dynamic Master Storyteller. Being able to inspire children through art is what she is most vehement about – giving children and young artists a place to learn and grow in the arts. Annette is energized by her love for the arts and humanities and her desire to find creative and dynamic ways to bring Latino/a Artist to the public. Additionally, playing a leadership role, she continues to develop increased opportunities for Latino Artists. She Cofounded and is the Executive Director of the Rochester Latino Theatre Company, Inc. (RLTC) currently in its 4th year of producing duel-language Latino theater. She is always recruiting new talent, mentoring them as actors, playwrights, directors and theater artists. She has successfully served on various Boards and continues to look for opportunities to serve her community with greater and greater impact.
