I am a full-time Youth Worker currently working in the position of Clubhouse Coordinator at YWCA Canberra. In this role I am primarily responsible for coordinating learning experiences in the areas of science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics, and music. I hold a Bachelor of Secondary Education and a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in English Language and Literature, and Sociology and Social Policy, and I have a minor in Community Counselling

I am a values-based individual, which drives to me work directly with community groups to build their resilience. These values have led me to a career in the community and not-for-profit sector and has led me to become an accredited Youth Mental Health First Aider.

I am enthusiastic about supporting people to realise their goals through a person-centred and strengths-based approach. This vivacity drives me to identify needs in the community and asses service gaps. As a long-term not-for-profit professional, I have also developed strong proficiencies in developing positive stakeholder and partner relationships that fulfil these service gaps, ensuring the best outcomes for community. In my previous role as Youth Engagement Officer, I used these skills to adapt the existing award-winning Y-Aspire Young Women’s Leadership Program and coordinated and co-facilitated the first out-of-hours Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Koori Y-Aspire Program.

I am also a skilled communicator, with experience writing content for reports, grant applications, blogs, programs and workshops, and social media. I am particularly practiced in public speaking and am highly commended for presenting and group work. Since my appointment to my current role as Clubhouse Coordinator, I have raised the digital reputation of the Clubhouse’s social media profile by more than 420%. I have also been sought out to present women’s leadership workshops at YWCA Canberra She Leads program of events to engage young women and empower them to ignite their leadership journeys.

Through my education qualification, I have a dedicated and proven passion for personal development, which includes consistently working on my own development and supporting others with their development; it is this which drives my career goals as this builds empowerment.

During my quieter moments, I enjoy learning to play ukulele, travelling, and botanic illustration. I also appreciate capturing these interests through photography and sharing them on Instagram, which is linked below.
