What’s the first thing that comes to your mind when I say bounce house? Is it the laughter of children as they try to bounce higher than they ever have before? Or is it rather yourself you see in the bounce house having a joyous moment. For me, it will always bring up memories of the time I managed to shatter my entire elbow.

In my younger years my greatest love in life were bounce houses, what wasn’t to love about them. I’ll always remember all of my birthday parties that took place at my home where my parents would “surprise” me with a bounce house in the backyard every year. At the time, little did I know my love of bounce houses would be the death of my elbow.

The fateful day had arrived. It started off like any other until my friends and I made the decision to go to a local bounce house. Upon arriving we acted as any child in a bounce house would, causing a huge uproar. After deciding to play tag, I began to run from one bounce house to the next. As I ran to catch my friend, the moment that lead to my 2 month hospital stay occurred. I fell… and managed to fall in such a way I shattered my entire left elbow.

To this day, I have not been in a bounce house since the incident.
