God is my Life, Art is my world!!! Both define me. I am an artist, teacher, wife, mother of three girls and grandmother of 5. I love all of it-them, with a passion and through balance, it provides me a full life! I am blessed.
"The arts are my passion... and creating work is much like breathing, I simply do it because I must to stay alive. I have always been an artist of some sort. When I was a child I would take the cardboard pieces out of my dad's laundered shirts to paint and draw upon. I couldn't wait for the next delivery of clean shirts as it would be loaded with many a blank canvas for me to make my creations. I use to get paint by number kits and I was never one to stay in the lines so with those paints, my imagination and the cardboard from my Dad's shirts I would paint....and paint... and paint.
A dancer in my early years, hit by a drunk driver, it ended my dance career. Years later while working as an artist in resdency in Montreal Canada I went to the Winnepeg Ballet. With my sketch book in tote, I pulled it out and drew in a completely blackened audience to the dancers on stage. The memory of the dance I knew so well had made it to my fingers as they moved across the page. The two worlds merge and my new work was born. Through that experience the " AnA Project" was birthed. I love spreading the joy that I feel each time I draw from movement. The AnA Project, brings the art of Drawing-from-Dance and Music to people of all ages and all walks of life through workshops and performances.
