I’m Anthony Anderson — an actor, producer, and comedian who believes in the power of persistence, purpose, and laughter. I was born and raised in Compton, California, where I learned that hard work and heart can take you anywhere. My passion for performing began at Hollywood High School for the Performing Arts, where I won first place in the NAACP ACTSO Awards for a monologue from The Great White Hope. That performance earned me a scholarship to Howard University and set me on the path I still walk today.

Over the years, I’ve worked in film, television, and beyond — starring in Barbershop, The Departed, and Transformers, and creating and leading Black-ish, which changed how comedy could talk about real life. As both an actor and executive producer, I’ve learned that leadership is about listening and building with others.

I also host, cook, and create — from To Tell the Truth to Kings of BBQ with Cedric the Entertainer. Living with Type 2 diabetes has taught me the importance of advocacy and giving back. I use my platform to raise awareness, support my community, and inspire others to keep showing up — because every “no” can lead to a bigger “yes.”
