Who is Tony???

**Anthony Tony Herbert, Sr. - Advocate for Change, Business and Community Leader**

Currently in the process of re-broadcasting his Urban night life support TV show, Dance Traxx USA, for internet and social media, Anthony “Tony” Herbert Sr. aka Tony Tune stands as a passionate advocate for the people. A lifelong New Yorker born and raised in Brooklyn, Tony learned to overcome adversity by dedicating his life to helping others.

As a teenager, Tony faced the harsh realities of gentrification when his family lost their home. Raised by a resilient single mother who devoted 30 years of her life as a School Aide for NYC public school students, Tony was instilled with values of education, hard work, and family. Tragically, he lost her to cancer in 1999, a loss that fueled his commitment to making the city more equitable. Sitting in an abandoned building in Prospect Heights that had become his home, Tony made a solemn pledge to uplift his community.

Since that moment, Tony has tirelessly fought for the voiceless and marginalized. As a community activist, he has improved the lives of disenfranchised New Yorkers by advocating for NYCHA residents, working to reduce gun violence on our streets, and promoting job creation in underserved neighborhoods. Having experienced struggle firsthand—facing eviction and food insecurity—Tony has a deep understanding of the challenges many New Yorkers encounter, and he remains dedicated to lending a hand.

Tony Herbert exemplifies the spirit of New York, ensuring that no one is left behind. As a vocational specialist, he worked diligently to support the mentally ill and homeless, never giving up on those whom the system often overlooks. His commitment to helping others find employment remains unwavering.

Justvrecemtly Tony served as the Citywide NYCHA Liaison in the NYC Mayor’s Community Affairs Unit, Tony continues his work in the community as as VP and an executive committee member of the NAACP-NYCHA Branch, a member of the MW Prince Hall Masons and the Abu Bekr Shrine Temple #91. He also serves as Vice President of the 100 Black Men of Eastern NY.

Tony’s voice is respected among elected officials, who often seek his insights on critical issues affecting NYC residents. His guidance has been invaluable to members of the NYC Council, NY State Senate, and the US House of Representatives. Additionally, Tony is an accomplished media consultant, with a public service career that commands respect.

Above all, Tony is a God-fearing, married father of five, an everyday Brooklynite who upholds the values instilled in him by his mother. He is committed to doing right by New Yorkers, understanding the struggles of vulnerable communities and the challenges facing the shrinking middle class. As an advocate for law and order, he recognizes the vital need to support law enforcement while addressing the community’s needs. Tony has the courage to speak truth to power and the leadership to drive change, always ready to assist those in need across the city.
