Buzbee’s profession began in 1997 when he worked for a federal district judge as a briefing attorney in the Southern District of Texas. From there, Susman Godfrey LLP hired Buzbee as an associate attorney. After spending a year in their employment, Buzbee ventured out on his own to start the Buzbee Law Firm in 1999.

Today, Tony Buzbee oversees more than fifty employees in two offices and ten lawyers. While his profession keeps him busy, he still finds time to devote to his community, as he currently serves on many boards. Buzbee was honored by Texas A&M University when the university named the Buzbee Leadership Learning Center after him. As a graduate of Texas A&M University, this tribute was particularly meaningful. Among other accolades, Buzbee has been profiled in numerous magazines, including the New York Times Magazine and Texas Monthly, and the National Law Journal named Buzbee as one of the top fifty “Premier” Plaintiff’s firms in the United States by Buzbee has collected more than $2 billion on behalf of his clients and has been involved in some of the most critical litigation in Texas and the United States. Buzbee has represented the Governor of Texas, Jimmy Buffett, Mexican states, and the Basque Country in Spain.

Tony Buzbee is incredibly enthusiastic about the arts. An eager connoisseur of paintings and sculptures, he has obtained many of his noted artists works at auctions in New York, Europe, and Beverly Hills. Buzbee is always watching for aspiring artists, and he regularly visits Christie’s or Sotheby’s when art is being traded. Mr. Buzbee is also a voracious reader and a constant author of poems. Currently, he is working on his next book of poems, to be named “Montana.” Buzbee composes most of his works at his home in the Montana mountains. Recently, Buzbee has acquired a studio in New York’s West Village where he intends to resume his effort to draft the perfect poem. In addition to art and poetry, Buzbee is a fan of the dramatic arts. He is partial to Broadway musicals, but any production involving his thespian kids (both attending theater school at USC) will always be his favorite.
