With more than 20 years of experience in business management, Anthony Caputo has devoted his career to innovation and leadership. Mr. Caputo most recently started a company called Save Energy Inc., whose goal is to provide energy-efficient operations to homes and businesses. In particular, Save Energy seeks to help existing buildings by retrofitting them with state-of-the-art heating and cooling systems controlled via all-wireless technology. In 2005 and 2006, Anthony Caputo served the State of Maryland as a member of the Board charged with overseeing the state’s Venture Fund.
Prior to his most recent endeavors, Anthony Caputo spent nearly 15 years at global data security company SafeNet, Inc., where he served as Chief Executive Officer. As CEO of SafeNet, Mr. Caputo developed the company from a start-up with three staff members to an international leader in information security with offices throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia. NetWork World magazine in 2005 recognized SafeNet under Anthony Caputo’s direction as the fastest-growing of the 200 largest tech companies.
The recipient of several industry awards, Anthony Caputo was named 2010-2011 Man of the Year by Premiere International Who’s Who Registries. Named Best CEO by Baltimore Magazine in 2005, he also received the Entrepreneur of the Year Award from international accountancy firm Ernst & Young in 1993.
Committed to community, Tony Caputo volunteers as President of his area homeowners association, and recently directed the board of a local private school through an important financial transition. At his church, he oversees the upkeep of physical facilities and grounds, and serves as Chair of his church Finance Council. He enjoys the outdoors, and is a longtime golf and tennis player. He studied at Iona College in New Rochelle, New York, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science.
