A classroom instructor who teaches social studies and sociology at Woonsocket High School in the Providence suburb of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, Anthony Cosentino lives nearby in the Connecticut border town of Putnam. After working at Woonsocket High School for well over a decade, Anthony Cosentino secured level I certification as a firefighter and found voluntary employment as a firefighter with the Putnam Fire Department.

Throughout his 11 years in firefighting, he has completed advanced and specialized training to earn his level II firefighter certification and his fire instructor certification. He also became certified in hazmat operations and accepted an appointment to lieutenant of the fire department’s Hose Company #2. In March of 2016, the department honored him with a “Firefighter of the Month” designation.

When he isn’t working, Mr. Cosentino enjoys cooking and getting outside to hike and fish. He also plays in the local band Truth in Soul, which received three consecutive annual nominations for best local reggae band in the Rhode Island publication Motif Magazine.
