Vance Moore
Mechanical Engineer in Lexington, GA
Hello, I’m Vance Moore. I’m from Dunwoody, GA, I’m a mechanical Engineering major and this is how my major defines me. To start off, I feel the idea of a major is almost as important as someone's name. What I mean by that is Generally, what you major in is what you will be doing for the rest of your life and that is very defining of one’s character. For me, mechanical engineering is no different.
When I was a toddler I was obsessed with cars, legos, and transformers. I believe these passions were sparked by my dad. He had always been a huge car guy, specifically classic american cars, and made it very clear from all of his model cars, and his love for getting a new car yearly. His love for cars formed these interests in me that held true for all of my childhood, but as I became a teenager I had an urge to pursue more. I did this in highschool where I had the opportunity to, through clubs, put my passion towards something more meaningful. I Joined a club called FRC which was a robotics club and I quickly became close friends with others in the club and found a real community to contribute to. Robotics was the first place I could really turn my passion into something productive and meaningful and it was truly one of the greatest experiences of my life. Now, In college, I hope to expand my knowledge of engineering and find another opportunity to put my hobby into something bigger than me. With how much Engineering and my love for cars has defined me in the past I feel it only right for it to be my introduction and hopefully be my future as well.
