Anthony Perrone MD

Board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy, Anthony Perrone, MD, serves as the chief plastic surgeon at Maine General Medical Center. He took on this position in 2014 and practices at the medical center in the Department of General Surgery. He now oversees one of the busiest surgical service lines at the facility. While his team provides a range of plastic and reconstructive surgical services, he focuses much of his own practice on providing functional and reconstructive care. Anthony Perrone, MD, has experience treating a wide range of conditions, including breast reconstruction and capsular contracture of a breast implant, and he is familiar with such procedures as eyelid surgery, adjacent tissue transfer, and excision of skin cancer.
Dr. Anthony Perrone began his career by earning a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from College of the Holy Cross and a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Services. He graduated from Dartmouth Medical School with his doctor of medicine and an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
For his postdoctoral training, Dr. Anthony Perrone earned general surgery preliminary training certification and completed a plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship at the University of Rochester’s Strong Memorial Hospital. He also completed a hand and microsurgery fellowship at Harvard University before going on to practice as a plastic surgeon at such facilities as Shriners Hospital for Children and Tufts University Tufts Medical Center.
