As a respected ophthalmologist who draws on more than 15 years of experience, Dr. Anthony Roberts has immersed himself in the study and practice of medicine, amassing a number of notable accomplishments in the process. As Chairman of Ophthalmology at Shady Grove Hospital in Rockville, Maryland, Dr. Roberts invests his work with an unwavering commitment to patient satisfaction and an impeccable history of professional excellence. As the driving force behind Shady Grove Ophthalmology since 2003, he diagnoses and treats all manner of conditions related to the eye in a comfortable, convenient, state-of-the-art facility. He and the team at Shady Grove Ophthalmology can help patients manage all types of conditions. Dr. Roberts assists patients seeking comprehensive eye examinations, treatment for glaucoma, cataract surgery, diabetic evaluations, and LASIK surgery.

Aside from his work at Shady Grove Ophthalmology, Dr. Anthony Roberts has spent the past decade as a Refractive Surgeon for a nationally recognized practice. He also currently serves as Chief Ophthalmologist for the Washington Redskins, an NFL franchise. Committed to staying abreast of the latest developments to the field of ophthalmology, Dr. Anthony Roberts maintains affiliation with the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and other relevant organizations. Working in private practice since 1996, Dr. Anthony Roberts launched his private practice after completing a three-year residency in ophthalmology at Nassau University Medical Center and Stony Brook University in East Meadow, New York.

Prior to his ophthalmology residency, Dr. Roberts fulfilled a fellowship in ocular pathology with the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology and a general internship at Providence Hospital in Washington, D.C. An alumnus of the University of Maryland School of Medicine and Howard University, he holds an M.D. and Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from the respective institutions.
