Anthony Umina

Co-founding startup DunRite Roofing in 1989 in a residential garage, Anthony Umina has grown the northeastern Ohio company to more than 100 employees and $1 million in annual sales. Located in Hudson, Ohio, DunRite Roofing repairs and replaces roofs; repairs storm damage; and replaces windows, doors, and gutters in Akron, Canton, Cleveland, and surrounding cities. Led by Anthony Umina, who serves as President, the company also installs siding, paints, completes additional home improvements, and provides commercial snow plowing.

Growing the company by word of mouth, Anthony Umina and his partner purchased a building and relocated from their garage headquarters in 1991. In 1995, the partner sold his shares to Anthony Umina, who went on to expand DunRite Roofing. Two years later, he built a complex in Hudson and in 2006 purchased adjacent land that more than doubled the size of the original property. As the firm has grown, so has its reputation for providing excellent work at affordable prices while delivering exceptional customer service. While overseeing DunRite’s exponential growth, Anthony Umina has played an instrumental role in the company’s achievements.

Ten years ago, DunRite became the first n. eastern Ohio contractor to earn Master Elite roofing contractor status from major supplier GAF Materials Corporation. In 2010, DunRite received the GAF Certified Contractor Award for its rate of high customer satisfaction. Anthony Umina also steered the firm to an A-plus rating from the Better Business Bureau and a listing as one of the Top 500 Remodelers in the U.S. by Qualified Remodeler magazine every year since 2006.

This year, DunRite is ranked number 208 in the United States and number 9 in the state of Ohio. DunRite, which maintains certifications in lead abatement and asbestos removal, also received recognition as a Weatherhead 100, which celebrates northeastern Ohio’s fastest-growing companies. Anthony Umina keeps abreast of community and industry activities and trends through memberships in organizations such as the Greater Akron Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of the Remodeling Industry, and Professional Remodelers of Ohio.
